Close-up of Michelangelo's "David" at the Accedemia Gallery in Florence, Italy

Florence
Famous for its art and culture, Florence is one of the most visited and popular European destinations — it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Italy!

Don't miss seeing Michelangelo's "David" (photo above) at the Accademia Gallery — although there are replica's of this famous statue, nothing beats seeing the real thing.

Historical Landmarks
Take a Renaissance walk through the streets and piazzas of Florence.

Visit famous museums, churches and historical landmarks, such as the Duomo Museum, Giotto's Tower, Medici Chapels and the
Museum of San Marco.

Best Time to Visit Florence
The best time to visit Florence is during late Spring (April-early June) and Fall (September-October) when temperatures are relatively mild and crowds are at a minimum (except during Easter).

Summer is Italy's peak season. July and August can be very hot and humid...and crowded. Many of the locals go on vacation in August (especially during the last two weeks), so expect some of the hotels, restaurants and shops to be closed.

Winter months can also be good times to visit Florence — less crowds (except during Christmas and New Year's), but the weather can be a little unpredictable.

Whenever you go, have FUN!
