Best Time to Visit Amsterdam
Although the Netherlands is a fun year-round
destination, the best time to visit is during the Spring and Summer.
Late-Mar to mid-May is the best time to see the
Springtime display of millions of tulips, daffodils and hyacinths
in bloom at the Bulb Fields (near Amsterdam) and at the magnificent
Keukenhof Gardens — the areas are blanketed with vibrant colors.
It's a "must-see" for flower lovers!
June-August are the hottest months and peak
tourist season. Winter is also a good time if you want to avoid
the crowds — it's a fun place to be during the Holiday Season.
Queen's Day (Koninginnedag), a national holiday
in the Netherlands), is usually celebrated on April 30. It's another
FUN time to visit, but be prepared for very large crowds
celebrating in the streets, at music concerts and along the canals
in Amsterdam. Tradition is to wear anything orange — it
symbolizes national and royal pride and relates to the Dutch royal
family name, The Nassau Family, House of Orange.
