Hollywood Sign

HOLLYWOOD Sign
Hollywood is home to the world-famous "HOLLYWOOD" Sign. Located
atop Hollywood Hills, the 50-ft tall white sign is
one of L.A.'s most photograhed attractions.
Did you know that the original sign was erected in 1923
as "Hollywoodland" — to promote a housing
development at the base of Hollywood Hills?
Many years later (after the demise of Hollywoodland),
the
famous "HOLLYWOOD"
sign was born. In 1973, it was
declared a Historical Landmark.
Today it is one
of the most recognizable signs
in the
world — and
often featured in Hollywood movies and TV shows.
