the oldest wooden roller-coasters in the world. Built in

13 — World Naked Bike Ride "Northern Hemisphere",
Northern Hemisphere Cities. Rain or shine. Riders gather

Herman Plaza at the

Golden Gate Park and back, with stops at Polk Street and

Parade, Coney Island, New
York. The Mermaid Parade is
the "nation's largest art parade" and one of New
York City's greatest summer events. The parade pays homage
to Coney Island's forgotten Mardi Gras which lasted
from 1903 to 1954. Thousands of mermaids, Neptunes, sea creatures
and antique cars flood Coney Island for the Mermaid Parade,
which kicks off the summer season for the area's boardwalk,
amusement park and attractions. Parade begins at W. 10th Street
(by the Cyclone roller-coaster), heads down the boardwalk to
W. 16th Street and back down Surf Avenue toward the Cyclone.
Mermaid Parade starts at 2pm. June 20 — Mermaid Parade
Ball, Coney Island, New
York. The Mermaid Parade is
followed by the Mermaid Parade Ball. Costumed parade participants
can get together with each other and parade spectators to listen
to live music, purchase raffle tickets, and watch burlesque
and sideshow acts performed by some of New York City's hottest
