UPDATE: NOW CLOSED as of November 2020
Looking for a great way to start the day? Head over to Bumble for breakfast or brunch in Los Altos. The charming little cottage with yellow door and white picket fence is located on First Street – it’s really popular with the locals. What makes Bumble unique apart from its amazing food is that it is one of the most kid-friendly restaurants we’ve ever seen. A large sandbox sits outside on the front porch among the patio tables and inside there’s a separate children’s play room and fish aquarium. Perfect for families and friends who want to enjoy a nice leisurely meal and keep their kids happy too.
The other thing that sets Bumble apart is its unique dining experience – customers can order food and drinks from an Android tablet at their table. It’s fast, user-friendly and takes service to a whole new level. No need to sit around waiting to place your order or ask for the check at the end of your meal – at Bumble it’s just a “touch” away.
This cutting-edge hi-tech service is the brainchild of Butter Systems, a Silicon Valley start-up that’s creating a lot of buzz. “Giving people a good dining experience is why we set out to do this in the first place” say co-founders Sam and Jon. Watch the short video clip below to see how it all works:
Take Your Honey and Kids to Bumble
Bumble’s menu of organic and top-of-the-line ingredients caters to foodies and kids alike. From free range eggs to Belgian waffles, you really can’t go wrong. For breakfast, we recommend these breakfast standouts: Morning Greens (kale and arugula with quinoa, toasted pine nuts and crispy pancetta topped with a poached egg), Green Eggs (sautéed spinach, asparagus, avocado, jalapeños with feta cheese and scrambled eggs topped with crusted parmesan), and Paleo Poached Eggs served on a bed of sautéed spinach with smoked salmon – all incredibly tasty (see pics below).
To complement your meal, try the Green Elixir juice (with kale, cucumber, spinach, celery, lemon, ginger and apple) – who knew a healthy green drink could taste so good!
Lunch and dinner entrees feature everything from fresh healthy salads, juicy grass-fed beef burgers (highly rated), mouth-watering sandwiches, tasty flat breads and cheese boards, to Japanese vegetable curry bowl and pan-seared salmon. We can’t wait to go back again and try more on the menu. By the way, juice bar drinks are available all day. Bumble also offers mixed cocktails, beer, and an array of fine Napa Valley red and white wines and champagne.
And for kids… Bumble serves up some of their favorite foods (grilled cheese, hotdog bites, PB & J pockets, pancakes, cheddar cheese sticks, and penne with butter and parmesan) as well as healthy options (grilled salmon, strawberries, pita and hummus, carrot sticks, edamame, apple slices – and ants on a log (we didn’t have a clue either!) It’s celery and peanut butter topped with raisins. After eating, what better place to let your kids (ages 1-10) burn off their extra energy than at Bumble’s supervised play room (for an additional fee) – it’s a win-win for everyone 🙂
Cozy dining areas can be found throughout the restaurant, including an adult-only enclosed patio. Hey, if there’s a private room for kids, why not one for adults too! There’s also a large communal table – perfect for groups up to 12 people. Looking for a unique Silicon Valley setting – Bumble can also be rented out for private parties and special events.
And if you have a sweet tooth, don’t pass up one of Bumble’s yummy desserts – apple pie, shortbread s’mores, apple slices with homemade caramel sauce, and ice cream sundae.
Time to take your honey and kids to Bumble 🙂
