Kick off the Holiday Season. Invite your friends and family over for a Tree Trimming Party. It’s a fun party-mixer! And what better excuse to have a party and see your friends. And it’ll save you hours of decorating your tree, especially if it’s a big one. Tree Trimming Parties are fun for kids and big kids too. We’ve put together some ideas for party decorations, music, ornaments, munchies and beverages. Whatever you do… have FUN!

Holiday Decorations & Music

Decorate your home with fun Holiday decorations. Don’t forget the mistletoe! Order online or visit your local party store for Holiday theme decorations. Green Day-Glo sticks and necklaces are fun for everyone. Be creative and fill a big glass bowl with large colored ornament balls (red and gold, blue and silver, or assorted colors). Or fill tall crystal vases with red and green apples or limes. They’re colorful and festive and make great table centerpieces.

Before your guests arrive, make sure you’ve put your Christmas lights on your tree (and check to make sure they’re all working). Place all the ornaments and hooks on a table (preferably near the tree).

Play festive Holiday music throughout the party and have everyone sing along to their favorite Christmas carols.

Themed Ornaments

Have each guest or family member bring a Holiday Ornament. Most people like to bring something and it’s a great way to add to your tree every year. You can even choose an ornament theme to make it more interesting (travel, food, animals). There are some really fun ornaments out there!

Holiday Drinks & Buffet

As your guests arrive, offer them a holiday drink – Hot Mulled Wine, Eggnog, Xmas Punch or a colorful cocktail (Pomegranate or Apple Martini). Or offer red and white wines. Be sure to have plenty of sodas, soft drinks, bottled water and coffee on hand for non-drinkers and designated drivers. Then invite your guests to hang ornaments on your tree.

Plan a Holiday Buffet that’s simple, fun and colorful. Here are a few ideas:

  • Grape Tomato, Basil and Mini Mozzarella Ball appetizers (on toothpicks)
  • Red & Green Peppers (cut out center and fill with humus or your favorite dips. Serve with veggie sticks or pita chips
  • Shrimp Cocktail
  • Cream Cheese topped with Red Jalapeño and/or Mint Pepper Jelly
  • Guacamole, Salsa & Pita Chips
  • Roast Turkey
  • Glazed Ham
  • Roasted Winter Vegetables
  • Stuffed Mushrooms
  • Sweet Potato Bites
  • Mixed Nuts
  • Christmas Cookies
  • Mini Chocolate Brownies
  • Hershey’s Holiday Kisses
  • Xmas M&Ms

Happy Holidays to you!
