“Impressionist Paris: City of Light” exhibit opens June 5, 2010 at San Francisco’s Legion of Honor and runs ’til September 26, 2010. The Impressionist exhibit highlights the work of Paul Gauguin, Pierre Auguste-Renoir, Georges Seurat, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Henri-Jacques-Edouard, James Tissot, Alphonse Mucha, Auguste Louis Lepere… and more!
“Impressionist Paris: City of Light” features 150 prints,drawings, photographs, paintings, and illustrated books from the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and several distinguished private collections.
The “City of Light” exhibit runs concurrently with “Birth of Impressionism: Masterpieces from the Musรฉe d’Orsay” exhibit which just opened (May 22nd) at the de Young Museum in S.F. – the treasured collection is on loan from the The Musรฉe dโOrsay in Paris.
