“Calder To Warhol: Introducing the Fisher Collection”
June 25-September 19, 2010 at SFMOMA (San Francisco Museum of Modern Art)
“Calder To Warhol: Introducing the Fisher Collection” – a major exhibition drawn from the 1,100 works in the Fisher Collection – showcases more than 160 artworks (paintings, sculptures, photographs and video works).
The Fisher Art Collection (from Gap founders Doris and Donald Fisher) is one the world’s finest private collections of modern and contemporary art. The collection was a family treasure to the Fisher’s and now they’re sharing it with the city of San Francisco – at the SFMOMA (San Francisco Museum of Modern Art). It’s the first time that this collection is on display to the general public.
One of the largest exhibitions ever presented at SFMOMA – the collection takes up the entire top two floors of the museum, including the Rooftop Sculpture Garden. See works by iconic 20th century artists – Alexander Calder,Chuck Close, Ellsworth Kelly, Anselm Kiefer, Roy Lichtenstein, Agnes Martin, Gerhard Richter, Cy Twombly, Andy Warhol, and many more!
Don’t miss this exciting and eclectic exhibit – it’s just the tip of the iceberg for what’s coming to SFMOMA in the future!
