Fremont Street Experience - Las Vegas
Downtown “Old Las Vegas”
Historic Fremont Street is located in downtown “Old Las Vegas,” about a 20-30 minute drive from the Las Vegas Strip. Downtown is quite different to the Las Vegas Strip in that it’s a much more condensed area featuring casinos, shopping kiosks, restaurants, bars, and lounges. Visit “Old Las Vegas” casinos. A few of them still have the old-style “one-armed bandit” slot machines, where you put coins in and pull the handle down. After dark, the area is a-glow with neon lights.
Viva Vision Light Show at Fremont Street Experience
Fremont Street Experience is the world’s largest laser computer-driven light show. This family-friendly high-tech light-and-sound extravaganza is not-to-be-missed. Viva Vision is the largest video screen in the world, made up of over 49 million energy-efficient LEDs. The screen is 90 feet high and stretches the length of nearly five football fields along the Fremont Street Experience promenade, from Main Street to Fourth Street, in downtown Las Vegas. In addition to the giant video screen, there are also 32 video screens (5-ft wide and 13-ft tall) attached to the massive columns supporting the canopy. The light-and-sound shows take place under the canopied pedestrian promenade. It’s a fun place to hang out and people-watch anytime of the day, but especially during the evening hours when the place comes alive with throngs of people, street performers, sound-and-light shows, and dazzling neon lights.
Viva Vision Light Show Hours
Viva Vision shows are free and can be viewed along the five-block Fremont Street Experience pedestrian promenade. The light show lasts about six minutes and runs every hour. Note: Times vary based upon the season. Be sure to check schedules as times are subject to change.
