The Walt Disney Family Museum - San Francisco
Be sure to visit The Walt Disney Family Museum, located at 104 Montgomery Street in the Presidio. Allow plenty of time because there’s a lot to see in all of its 10 galleries and special exhibitions. The fun family-friendly museum showcases early drawings of Mickey Mouse and Disney’s most popular characters, personal letters, Disney family home movies, artifacts and groundbreaking technologies.
The spacious entry hall features 248 awards in glass cabinets. Our favorite is the special “Snow White” Academy Award, which includes a full-size Oscar and seven miniature “Oscars” presented to Walt by Shirley Temple.
The museum also offers spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay (as pictured below).
Fantasia-themed Theater
Enjoy watching a classic Disney film in their state-of-the-art 114-seat Fantasia-themed theater. Movie tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and must be purchased in-person at the Ticket Desk on the day of your museum visit. We saw “Bambi” here and loved it. What’s your favorite Disney movie?
