Covent Garden - London
Covent Garden is centrally located in the heart of London’s West End. The popular market and shopping destination is one of our favorite places to visit. The historic market was originally London’s fruit, flower and vegetable market. For trivia buffs, it was also where flower girl Eliza Doolittle worked in the hit Musical “My Fair Lady.”
The glass-roofed Covent Garden is packed with quaint little shops and market stalls. You can browse for hours and find everything from antiques, jewelry, arts and crafts, to clothes, souvenirs, collectables, and specialty foods. It’s also home to upscale shops and one of Apple’s biggest stores. Enjoy an al fresco lunch or afternoon tea at one of the local cafés overlooking the bustling piazza and performing street artists. The area is filled with fun restaurants, bars and pubs. Covent Garden’s upbeat atmosphere and its cosmopolitan crowd make for great people-watching. It’s especially magical during the busy holiday season. Open daily.
Nearby attractions include The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet, Great Britain’s most prestigious ballet company.
