Fisherman's Wharf - San Francisco
Fun Things To Do at Fisherman's Wharf
We love visiting Fisherman’s Wharf. It’s such a fun place to hang-out and play tourist for the day. And it’s a prime spot for people-watching. Stroll along the historic waterfront area and enjoy the unique tastes of San Francisco. Street vendors sell seafood “portions-to-go.” Enjoy fresh Dungeness Crab, Shrimp Cocktails, Fried Calamari, and other delicious seafood delicacies. Be prepared for crowds, especially during peak tourist season. It’s one of San Francisco’s most popular attractions. Fisherman’s Wharf is also famous for its Italian seafood restaurants, fishing fleet, street performers, pedicabs, bay cruise ferries, specialty shops, and live entertainment. If you’re looking for San Francisco souvenirs and gifts, this is a good place to shop.

Boudin Museum and Famous Sourdough Bread
Don’t miss a visit to Boudin’s – famous for its SF Sourdough bread filled with Clam Chowder. It’s a delicious San Francisco treat. It all started back in 1849, when Isidore Boudin created the Original San Francisco Sourdough French Bread. Today, Boudin makes bread from that same Sourdough Starter.
Boudin Museum and Self-Guided Bakery Tour
Tours feature historic photos and trivia of Boudin and San Francisco, dating back to the California Gold Rush and Barbary Coast days, through the post Dot.com era. Fun, interactive exhibits will keep you (and your kids) entertained. Find out why San Francisco’s famous fog plays such an integral part in sourdough bread-making. There’s also a very knowledgeable docent on hand to answer any questions during your tour. There is a nominal tour fee. After your tour, enjoy sampling a variety of delicious freshly-baked Boudin breads and spreads. This is free to anyone who takes the Boudin Bakery Tour.
NOTE: Tour discontinued in 2020 following the Covid outbreak.
Baker’s Hall Marketplace
Shop at Baker’s Hall for California olive oils, tapenades, locally-produced cheeses, specialty chocolates, and fun gourmet gifts.
Boudin Demonstration Bakery
This 5,000 sq. ft. bakery produces approximately 3,000 loaves of fresh bread daily. Get an up-close “baker’s view” through Boudin’s 30-foot observation window as you walk along Jefferson Street. There’s also a glass-walled catwalk suspended directly above the Bakery. In addition to Boudin’s famous sourdough rounds and loaves, the bakery also offers fun sourdough “creatures.” Take home a sourdough teddy bear, alligator, lobster, crab or turtle. It makes a great gift.
Bistro Boudin and Boudin Cafe
Bistro Boudin is located on the second floor, above the Boudin Bakery. The warm and inviting state-of-the-art bistro features a full-service bar and a menu of seasonally fresh foods available in the San Francisco Bay Area. Enjoy fabulous waterfront views and al fresco dining overlooking the wharf. Dine al fresco at Boudin Cafe. It’s a fun, casual place to grab a quick bite for lunch or dinner. The area overlooks Fisherman’s Wharf, so there’s always a lot going on. It’s a great place for people-watching. The patio includes a large outdoor fireplace and heaters to keep you warm on chilly days and nights, and umbrella tables to keep you cool on hot sunny days.
