Lunch at Grimaldi’s Pizzeria in Brooklyn

Walk from the Fulton Ferry dock straight up Old Fulton Street (under the Brooklyn Bridge) to Grimaldi’s. Over the years, it has consistently been voted the Best Pizza in the NY area. The restaurant is only a five-minute walk from the Fulton Ferry Landing pier. Grimaldi’s famous coal-fired brick-oven churns out some of the best pizza we’ve ever tasted. The dough is delicious all by itself. It must be something in that New York water that we just don’t have in California. Pizza is available in small and large sizes only. Remember when ordering your pizza, that “small” is considered “large” by California standards. The restaurant is cozy and casual. Walls are lined with celebrity and diner pictures. Sinatra music and whiffs of garlic fill the air. Dining room tables are covered with red and white checkered cloths. And the open kitchen enables diners to watch the pizza chefs in action. High energy atmosphere and great food makes Grimaldi’s very popular with locals and visitors alike. It’s a great place to grab a quick, casual lunch.

Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory

Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory is located at the end of Fulton Ferry Landing Pier (at 2 Cadman Plaza West). Look for the little house at the end of the dock. Wait until you get a taste of their delicious ice cream, made of the freshest natural ingredients. It’s the perfect dessert before catching the water taxi back to Manhattan.
