“The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonders forever.”
– Jacques-Yves Costeau
Santa Monica is one of Southern California’s premier beach destinations and one of our favorites too. In addition to its beautiful sandy beach and stunning ocean views, Santa Monica has miles of walking and biking paths. This popular Los Angeles getaway is conveniently located only 30-45 minutes from Los Angeles airport (depending on traffic).
Fun Santa Monica Attractions
Visit the world-famous Santa Monica Pier and Pacific Park. It’s the West Coast’s only amusement park located on a pier. Millions of visitors come here to enjoy the fun rides (we love the ferris wheel and roller coaster), dine at ocean view restaurants, shop for fun souvenirs, go boating or fishing, and enjoy strolling along the beach. It’s especially magical during sunset and beautiful at night with all the lights. Santa Monica Pier has been (and continues to be) a popular venue for filming movies and TV shows. Walk or rent a bike and follow the scenic winding trail along the beach. The ocean views are spectacular. Take a leisurely stroll down Santa Monica’s pedestrian-friendly Third Street Promenade. It’s home to fun restaurants, cafes, shops, and movie theaters.
Santa Monica is also within close proximity to other popular L.A. venues including, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Marina del Ray, Redondo Beach, and Venice Beach. Enjoy a day at Universal Studios Hollywood.
