"Art Walk"
Santa Barbara Arts & Crafts Show
"Art Walk" — Santa Barbara's weekly Arts &
Crafts
Show — takes
place
every
Sunday,
year-round
along
the
beautiful beachfront of downtown Santa Barbara. During our last visit
to the city,
we just happened to arrive on a warm Sunday afternoon — it was great
timing.
Local artists first established "Art Walk" in
1965. Today, more than 40 years later, this FUN weekly event
draws hundreds of art lovers, tourists and locals alike. It's
a wonderful way to spend a few hours, browsing the stalls and
meeting the artists — especially on a nice sunny day.
Over 250 local resident artists display their original works of art— an
eclectic selection of jewelry, drawing, paintings, sculpture, photography and
unique gift items. Bet you won't go home empty-handed.
" Art Walk" runs along Cabrillo Blvd east from
State Street and Stearns Wharf in downtown Santa Barbara.
(If you're staying at the Fess Parker DoubleTree Resort, it's just across the
street.)
After strolling along "Art
Walk," we ventured out to the tip of Stearns
Wharf — it's about
a two-mile walk from the beginning of "Art Walk" to
the end of the Wharf. It's great exercise and lets you work up
an appetite
for
all those fabulous Santa Barbara waterfront restaurants.

Colorful arts & crafts booths and umbrellas
stretch along Cabrillo Blvd for over a mile, with the Pacific Ocean
and towering palm trees as a backdrop — it's a spectacular
setting.
 "Art
Walk" reminds us a little of the street vendors at
San Francisco's Ghirardelli Square, only the Santa Barbara
Arts & Crafts Show is much larger.
Sunday Shows
and Special Holiday

Art Walk takes place every Sunday, year-round — and
on Special Holidays and some Saturdays (weather permitting). Show closes
at approximately 4pm.
