“I love to travel, but hate to arrive.”
– Albert Einstein
Marin County is world-renowned for its famous waterfront city of Tiburon. It’s located just 20 minutes north of San Francisco, across the Golden Gate Bridge. The historic Marin town is dotted with cozy cafes, waterfront restaurants, a winery, specialty shops and trendy boutiques. Its close proximity to San Francisco, year-round mild temperate climate and scenic landscape, makes Tiburon appealing to both locals and tourists alike. It’s a great place for walking and cycling. You sure can’t beat the views!
Fun Tiburon Attractions and Day Trips
Tiburon’s scenic waterside biking and walking trails offer fabulous views of San Francisco and the Bay. Take a short 20-minute Ferry ride from San Francisco and cruise across the Bay to Tiburon. Visit Angel Island (a 10-minute Ferry ride on the Tiburon Ferry). Nearby attractions include San Francisco, Sausalito and Muir Woods.
Al Fresco Waterfront Dining
If you’re looking for somewhere fun, casual and “buzzing” for weekend brunch, Sam’s Anchor Cafe is the place to go. The popular waterfront restaurant is one of our favorites for weekend brunch in the San Francisco Bay Area. You can’t beat the ambiance or the views from the waterfront deck, especially on a warm sunny day. It’s worth a trip just for the SF Bay and skyline views alone… not to mention the great boats and people-watching! The restaurant has been around since 1920. And today, it’s as popular as ever, with locals and visitors alike.
