Sam’s Chowder House opened on October 20, 2006 in Half Moon Bay – and we were there. Today, it is still going strong. The popular cliff-side restaurant, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, serves traditional New England-style seafod. The food and views are incredible. If you’re looking for a fun place to hang out, stake out one of their Adirondack chairs outside and relax with a cocktail. Sam’s makes a killer Bloody Mary!
The spacious restaurant features large picture windows, offering diners dramatic ocean and marina views in a casual setting. Enjoy al fresco dining on Sam’s outdoor split-level deck, overlooking the ocean and Pillar Point Harbor. We love ordering their Crab Cakes, New England Clam Chowder and Maine Lobster Rolls. Fresh seafood and Fish & Chips are excellent too. When crab season is in (usually mid-November til late Spring), we love getting the Dungeness Crab Cocktail and Dungeness Crab Louis salad. And Sam’s Oyster Bar is popular with oyster lovers. The restaurant offers a nice selection of wine, beer and champagne. Sam’s bar is a fun place to relax and people-watch. An outdoor bar is also open on weekends.
So… if you happen to be in Half MoonBay and are looking for a nice restaurant for brunch, lunch or dinner (or a cocktail and appetizers), check out Sam’s Chowder House.
