“San Francisco has only one drawback… it’s hard to leave.”
– Rudyard Kipling
San Francisco is one of the country’s top destinations. The popular cosmopolitan City by the Bay is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty, cultural diversity and the arts, charming Victorian architecture, a temperate climate and world-class sailing on the bay. And like London and Florence, SF is an interesting walking city. It’s only 49 square miles and everything is conveniently located, so you don’t need a car to get around. If you’re visiting San Francisco for the first time, we always recommend taking a hop-on-hop-off double-decker bus tour. It’s a great way to see all of the city’s top attractions and you can always go back to the places you want to spend more time visiting.

Culinary Trendsetter – Fun for Foodies!
San Francisco is a food-lover’s delight where originality, creativity and ethnic diversity abounds. It’s one of the nation’s top culinary destinations, with more eclectic cuisine and gourmet restaurants than you can count. North Beach is one of our favorite neighborhoods. It’s filled with cozy Italian restaurants, outdoor cafes, coffee houses, bustling nightclubs and bars. And SF’s Chinatown, one of the nation’s oldest and largest, is a fun place for tea-tasting, Dim Sum and incredible Chinese cuisine. Stroll along Fisherman’s Wharf. Its historic waterfront area offers unique “tastes” of San Francisco. Street vendors sell portions-to-go of fresh Dungeness crab, shrimp cocktails, fried calamari, and other delicious seafood delicacies. Don’t miss a visit to Boudin Bakery at the Wharf, famous for its Sourdough Bread filled with Clam Chowder, a delicious San Francisco treat.

The Best Time To Visit San Francisco
The best time to visit San Francisco is during the Spring or Fall, when it’s warm and sunny. Winters are usually mild too, especially compared to the East Coast. The fog – San Francisco’s natural air-conditioner – rolls in along the coast during the summer months (mornings and evenings). So, if you’re planning a trip in July or August, bring layers, just in case.
Note to tourists: Never refer to San Francisco as “Frisco” or “San Fran” – San Francisco or SF is just fine. 🙂
